Best of the Rest Free Agents
The possibility the Titans go after any of these free agents I believe is slim. The reason I say this is because teams would like to have players around learning the system as early as possible. The reason Tennessee may not have signed any of these could be because they want to much money, or they aren’t interested in joining a team who isn’t ready to complete yet. So let’s look at a few that would make since for the Titans if the money was right.
Anquan Boldin WR
Anquan may have aged, but he’s still been very productive the last few years. He helped Baltimore win a super bowl. The Titan’s team is very young and I believe they need a veteran presence other than Harry Douglas.
Jahri Evans G
Jahri was with the saints earlier in the year, but got cut after refusing a pay cut, so money could be the issue here. Jahri has played in pro-bowls, and the Titans have a serious need here. Reports from came are pointing at Potousi starting opposite of Chance Warmack, after Potousi’s play last year I’m not entirely comfortable with that.
Jason Jones DE
Jason played for Detroit and has been pretty productive, and I’ve been calling for awhile even with Dodd we need more depth at the pass rusher position. There was a noticeable difference in the defense last year when Morgan went down, Orakpo also has a long injury history, even though he did a good job staying on the feild last year. Jason could possibly even challenge Daquan for a starting job opposite Casey.
Marques Colston WR
Like Anquan, Marques would be a good veteran presence who has a few good years of football left in him. I’d rather have Anquan because Marques fits what Kendall Wright and Tajea sharpe will probably be doing, and camp reports say both of them guys are really stepping up.
Others I didn’t mention Leon Hall CB, and Antonio Cromatie CB because camp reports say Parrish Cox is having a big camp and the rookies are stepping up, also Jason McCourty will be making a return. OLB Dewight Freeney, I didn’t mention because he is deffaintly looking to join a contender. Arian Foster RB and Ryan Fitzpatrick QB the Titans don’t have a need for.
