Draft rumors: Tennessee Titans love pick #33
By Will Lomas
The Tennessee Titans may already know who they will be taking at pick 33 in the 2016 NFL Draft, and they are apparently high on him.

This information comes from Corey Curtis who has been outstanding this offseason giving fans a look inside what is going on in the Tennessee Titans front office. He tweeted this out just about an hour ago:
“Don’t know who, but Titans have a first round grade on the player they’re taking at 33. Looks like a big night. 3 of first 14 picks.”
Now, I assume that with pick 32 still looming in front of them, that they actually have two firm 1st round grades on the remaining players. However, to be fair there is another answer. In his comment section, Curtis does say that many in the league believe that the Browns are locked into a quarterback at 32 so the Titans should have the first non QB choice of the night.
So, I decided to take a look at the available players and see if I could look at some prospect grades from experts around big media and see if there are any consensus 1st rounders.

1. Myles Jack LB, UCLA
Obviously this is the big one. After news broke today that Dr. James Andrews (who is sort of famous around the NFL) has said that he doesn’t need micro-fracture surgery, there may not be a reason to avoid him. He is a clear cut top player in this draft and would make sense if everything checks out.
2. Noah Spence EDGE, WKU
There was a lot of talk out there that teams view Spence as repentant and they feel like he has learned his lesson. If that is true, then Spence is clearly a 1st round talent and many agree. His get off and motor as a pass rusher should be highly valued, so he could be the mysterious 1st rounder.
3. Jarran Reed DL, Alabama
I am not in love with Reed, but many think that his effort and anchor were enough to warrant a 1st round grade from most. How much do you value a defensive linemen in a 3-4 scheme? I don’t know, but as far as his actual play, people say he is worth this pick and more.
4. Chris Jones DL, Mississippi State
A much better fit in this defense as a 5-tech, Jones would make a lot of sense and it would fill the “build in the trenches” mentality that Jon Robinson talked about before the draft. He shows flashes of greatness, can he be more consistent?

5. Reggie Ragland LB, Alabama
A very good player who is a leader on and off the field. I believe that people get the misconception that Ragland is just a thumper, but he is athletic enough to play ILB in a 3-4 scheme and he has a very low chance of being a bust.
Some other players who got close on the offensive side were Cody Whitehair, Michael Thomas, Sterling Sheppard, and Hunter Henry but they didn’t meet my criteria.
This is a deep group of defensive players and with the way the board is falling you can expect the Tennessee Titans to take advantage of it at some point.
