Projecting where each coach will land including Titans

The first domino has fallen in the head coaching search as Hue Jackson was hired by the Cleveland Browns. So, the question has to be asked, where is everyone else going to land?

Interviewed: Anthony Lynn, Chip Kelly, John DeFilippo, Dirk Koetter, Tom Coughlin.

Other rumored interest: Mike Shanahan, Mike Holmgren

The 49ers have never hired someone with previous head coaching experience before, but I think that could easily change this year. I think ultimately it comes down to Mike Shanahan and Chip Kelly.

Other rumored interest: Mike Smith, Doug Marrone, Tom Coughlin, Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher, Chip Kelly, Josh McDaniels, Mike Shanahan, Mike Holmgren.

This is an interesting situation because I would have imagined that this would have already been done. Unless Dirk Koetter is blown out of the water by another offer, I have to imagine it his job to lose.

Prediction: Dirk Koetter

Philadelphia Eagles

Interviewed: Pat Shurmur, Duce Staley, Ben McAdoo, Dirk Koetter, Tom Coughlin, Doug Penderson.

Other rumored interest: Teryl Austin, Sean McDermott, Paul Guenther, Mike Shanahan.

This one is harder to guess. I would have said Tom Coughlin because of the way that he seemed to end his relationship with the New York Giants, however that team may not want a coach that isn’t ready to be a long term option. I really like Teryl Austin as an eventual head coach somewhere and no matter if he is a position coach or a coordinator he always seems to mask holes in defenses. His ability to develop players and to scheme around weakness is a major asset.

Other rumored interest: Josh McDaniels, David Shaw, Brian Kelly

I think this one is easy just like the Tampa Bay Bucs job, when there is an OC who has talent and who a franchise quarterback is familiar with, you can’t let that guy walk. With McAdoo getting the most out of Eli Manning, I expect him to be there.

This is the one that most everyone here has been waiting for. Everyone and their mother has said that Mularkey is the top candidate, but that is only because he is the only person who has really been discussed publicly. That is making some writers panic that they won’t scoop everyone.
