Tennessee Titans highlight my 36 pick 2016 NFL Mock Draft
By Will Lomas
The Tennessee Titans are in a position to have a revolutionary draft here. While I think having the top pick is the best case scenario for the Titans, I think what they do with it should be more creative. This mock draft involves only one trade, but that heavily involves the Titans.

Trade:
The San Francisco 49ers get:
-#1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft
The Tennessee Titans get
-#5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft
-#37 overall pick (49ers 2nd round pick)
-49ers fourth round pick
-49ers 1st round pick in 2017
This is fair value for a trade of this caliber according to all of the charts, and the 49ers need to make this jump to get ahead of the Cleveland Browns. With the Titans having the only pick ahead of the quarterback needy Browns, a move has to be made if a team wants to land their top quarterback, and it will take some fire power.
So here is the way I think the 2016 NFL Draft should play out at this point with these conditions.
1. San Francisco 49ers- Jared Goff QB, Cal
2. Cleveland Browns- Paxton Lynch QB, Memphis
3. San Diego Chargers- Laremy Tunsil OT, Ole Miss
4. Baltimore Ravens- Joey Bosa EDGE, Ohio State
5. Tennessee Titans- Jalen Ramsey CB/S, FSU
I was down on Ramsey earlier in the season because I don’t think his ball skills are that great. However, this team needs an impact player in the secondary and his versatility and instincts are on another level compared to anyone else in this draft. If this were just about playing cornerback, I would have taken Hargreaves who outranks Ramsey by one point in my draft grades.
However, I think Michael Griffin will be gone this season according to everything people are saying with connections to the team. If that is true, the Titans can’t afford to start Marqueston Huff at safety based on what he has shown so far.
This gives the Titans an immediate starter at free safety who can roam around the field and has great instincts. If Tennessee takes him and retains Dick LeBeau, I could definitely see him playing the Troy Polamalu role in this defense.
6. Dallas Cowboys- Vernon Hargreaves CB, Florida
7. Detroit Lions- Robert Nkemdiche DL, Ole Miss
8. Miami Dolphins- Jaylon Smith LB, Notre Dame
9. Jacksonville Jaguars- Ronnie Stanley OT, Notre Dame
10. Chicago Bears-Carl Lawson EDGE, Auburn

Round 2
32. Tennessee Titans- Tyler Boyd WR, Pitt
The Titans need a go to receiver in this offense, and while Boyd isn’t as good as Doctson in terms of separation and overall impact, he has a great set of hands and knows what it is like to face extra coverage by the other team’s best cover man.
If the Titans get Boyd and Kendall Wright on the field at the same time, then it will demand a lot of coverage in the middle on third downs which should open up the deep pass and the QB run, both things I expect to see more of next year.
33. Cleveland Browns- Tre’Davious White CB, LSU
34. San Diego Chargers- Kenny Clark DT, UCLA
35. Baltimore Ravens-Derrick Henry RB, Alabama
36. Tennessee Titans- Jack Conklin OT, Michigan State
Conklin isn’t an elite pass protector, but he had his way with DeForrest Buckner in their matchup, and I like him a lot. I think that if the Titans could land him with this pick, they will have secured their bookend tackles without having to force any picks.
I think Landon Turner in the third would also be a great choice if the Titans could get him to solidify this line.
So, over the course of this draft, with one move the Titans have gotten first round talents at free safety/cornerback, wide receiver and right tackle, three of their biggest needs. That is a great start to this draft not to mention what they do in free agency with the big pile of money they are sitting on.
