Tennessee Titans offensive trade targets from sinking teams
By Will Lomas
This is the bye week and with so little to talk about, it is fun to think about the crazy stuff that could happen in the season. One thing that is a hot topic now is the Chicago Bears fire sale, and what happens when a team like that enters lose-now mode.
More from Titans Draft
- Tennessee Titans suspiciously quiet about major draft need
- 3 needs that are being overblown by Tennessee Titans fans
- Tennessee Titans must be careful trading down in the 2023 NFL Draft
- Tennessee Titans should only spend their premium draft picks on offense
- Tennessee Titans connections may be crucial for a draft day trade
With that in mind, here are some of the top offensive trade targets from each team that should be looking to get whatever they can.
San Francisco 49ers
-TE Vernon Davis is a free agent at the end of this year, and with the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks seemingly ready to crush an inexperienced and subpar 49ers team, it is time to consider a full rebuild. I don’t think that the team will trade any of their young offensive line, but an older tight end who isn’t a feature in this offense makes perfect trade bait.

Chicago Bears
-RB Matt Forte. I just wrote a long piece about this, but ultimately it comes down to whether or not the front office trusts the group they have now more than what a proven veteran like Forte could bring to the Titans.
-WR Alshon Jeffery is a very talented wide receiver that is injured often enough to where the Bears have at least contemplated letting him walk this coming offseason. With nothing to lose and a number one receiver already waiting in the wings (Kevin White) it makes sense to get something for him while you can. The Titans need another experienced wide receiver to play while DGB and Tre McBride develop and Jeffery would be huge in this offense.
