247 Sports recently put out their composite NFL Power Rankings which feature websites like NFL.com, CBS, ESPN, and others to find what the average ranking of NFL teams are.
Well, after tallying up the scores, the Tennessee Titans ended up in last place.
While I understand why they can’t be in the middle based off of a great draft and solid offseason, here is why it is foolish to have them ranked so low.
History
Since 2000 (as far as I went back) only one team in the NFL has ever drafted second overall and then drafted first the next year (the 2009 St. Louis Rams after they drafted one of the biggest busts of all time Jason Smith).

No team in that stretch drafted a quarterback second overall in that stretch except the Washington Redskins who selected Robert Griffin III who (until his injury) was a dominant player that led that team to a playoff birth.
Explanation
This is what the explanation was on why the Tennessee Titans were the worst team in the NFL:
FanSided
I really don’t understand how this team won’t take a step forward on offense. The team completely retool the wide receiver and quarterback positions (which were the two major issues). Also, important rookie offensive players from last year like Bishop Sankey and Taylor Lewan will understand the playbook and be more physically mature.
Potential for dominance
Let’s not overlook just how dominant a Dick LeBeau/Ray Horton defense will be. It is always the second year in a 3-4 when you really see what you have from the players. Now with the additions of Brian Orakpo, Perrish Cox and Da’Norris Searcy in addition to bringing back Derrick Morgan and a healthy Zach Brown, this defense should be much better.
Even though the team looked so bad on paper, the Tennessee Titans were still 16th in the league in sacks. With Brian Orakpo now on the other side of Derrick Morgan, and with Jurrell Casey finally not being the only one who should bring interior pressure, this team is set to exceed that number.
Summary
This team is just too explosive to be worse on an offense that lacked any pop. Defensively they will be too well coached and too much more experienced to be worse than they were last year. It is easy to fawn over Jameis Winston now, but wait until he has to play the Tennessee Titans and a Dick LeBeau defense famous for ruining rookie quarterbacks.
