It’s a little bit like Christmas for Tennessee Titans fans since getting new toys in free agency and especially during the 2015 NFL Draft. Now all we have to do is wait for August 14th and a chance to see them in action for the first time when the NFL Pre Season gets underway for the Titans against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.
Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans to visit Atlanta Falcons for first preseason game – Mark Inabinett AL.com
"Marcus Mariota likely will make his debut for the Tennessee Titans in the Georgia Dome. That’s where the Titans kick off their 2015 preseason schedule against the Atlanta Falcons at 6 p.m. CDT Friday, Aug. 14.Tennessee selected the quarterback with the second pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday night."
"For new Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, the debate about whether he could be a top-notch NFL starter has been argued even before he announced that he was entering the draft.Every other top prospect had his own list of pros and cons, but for Mariota, who is on the national cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated, the debate centered on whether he was too nice for an NFL huddle, too dependent on the high-octane Oregon offense and could he adjust or read NFL defensive schemes."
"Yes, we saved the worst for last as both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans won just two games apiece in 2014 and owned the first two selections in last week’s draft. As we know, the Bucs opted for Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston and the Titans grabbed University of Oregon signal-caller and 2014 Heisman Trophy Winner Marcus Mariota."
"The Tennessee Titans moved quickly to kick off a heavy marketing campaign featuring Marcus Mariota. They drafted him second overall on Thursday night. On Friday, 10 different electronic billboards around Nashville featured his picture, one of three new slogans and the team’s Web address and ticket office number."
"Liked the Titans‘ draft overhaul, as I wrote immediately after the draft. Obviously, as Marcus Mariota(or Mariot-oh, per the creative pronunciation Thursday night) goes, so go the Titans … and Ken Whisenhunt … and Ruston Webster. You know what would really help? Bishop Sankey running for 1,150 yards and 10 touchdowns."
"The NFL draft is over and it suddenly seems like a long time to wait for the next meaningful event on the NFL calendar. But frankly we’re still excited trying to break down what it all means for each team and so we’re going to share some of that excitement. That’s right every team is going to have each pick broken down as well as a look at their undrafted free agents. Next up we’re looking at the Tennessee Titans."
"The Titans have a new cover boy in Marcus Mariota.By drafting the Heisman Trophy winner, the Titans also have a player who single-handedly puts them back on the national stage.Already, the impact has been felt in Nashville and beyond.•Exhibit A: Mariota is on this week’s cover of Sports Illustrated.•Exhibit B: Ticket sales have seen a spike in the past several days, and Mariota jerseys are selling like iPhones.•Exhibit C: Online numbers at Tennessean.com and titansonline.com are off the charts as a direct result of Mariota being drafted.“No doubt there’s been a definite jolt in enthusiasm in the fan base; everyone is so excited,” said Stuart Spears, chief revenue officer for the Titans. “The quarterback is always such a high-profile position on a football team, and to have someone the caliber of Marcus Mariota join the organization, it can’t help but create that kind of energy.”"
