Selection: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

St. Louis may go with the best player available here, or shoot for a need. They can afford to do either one since they have another mid-first round pick. They seem content with Sam Bradford as their quarterback, so look for them to protect him better. Matthews might be better than college teammate Luke Joeckel was at this point last year, and Joeckel was drafted with the second pick. Former Titans coach Jeff Fisher loves to have two good offensive tackles, like he had in Michael Roos and David Stewart for a good amount of years with the Titans. Look for him to pair Matthews with the Rams’ stud left tackle Jake Long.
