We’re less than a week away from the NFL trade deadline, which is November 1st. We’ve already started to see some teams making moves before the deadline hits. The New England Patriots acquired linebacker Kyle Van Noy from the Detroit Lions, and rumors have been swirling around that the Philadelphia Eagles have been in talks with the San Francisco 49ers about acquiring wide receiver Torrey Smith. I thought that it might be fun to look at a few moves the Tennessee Titans should make before the deadline, so I’ve put a little list together here.

More from Titan Sized

Alshon Jeffery – WR – CHI

I’m sure by now you’ve heard us here at TitanSized love the idea of Alshon Jeffery in two tone blue. I find myself on the fence about this one. While I love the idea of Jeffery in a Titans uniform, he currently is underperforming under the franchise tag. This means he more than likely hits the open market next year, and we could sign him without losing any draft capital. On the other hand, it would give Marcus Mariota and the club a head start on building chemistry with their new number one receiver, and it would give us a far greater chance to win now. My best guess on how this deal would go is first Jeffery has to agree to a long term deal, then the Titans receive Jeffery and a fifth round pick, the Bears receive two third round picks.

Brandon Marshall – WR – NYJ

Like Jeffery, Marshall would come in as the Titans new number one receiver, and in the locker room this guy is a real fire starter. That’s another thing this young team needs. Why does this benefit the Jets? Marshall is at the tail end of his career and is only signed through 2017. With the Jets season starting to look like a lost cause, the draft capital can help them build for the future, and that’s something Marshall can’t do. The deal: Titans receive Brandon Marshall and Jets receive a fifth round pick in 2016 and a sixth rounder in 2017.

Arthur Moats- OLB – PIT

By now you should know that Jon Robinson spent years cutting his teeth with the Patriots. And what do the Patriots do? For the last three consecutive years, the Patriots have made trades to add linebacker depth. They’ve done it twice this year, adding Barkevious Mingo from the Browns and Kyle Van Noy from the Lions. Back to the Titans situation, the Titans have better depth than they did a year ago. David Bass has stepped his game up and they drafted Kevin Dodd, but I think a little more depth could help. The Steelers are stacked at outside linebacker and with younger players stepping up for them, if the price is right they could make a move. The deal: Titans receive Arthur Moats, Steelers receive 2016 sixth round pick and 2017 sixth round pick.

Joe Haden – CB – CLE

Like Jeffery, we’ve talked about Haden coming to Tennessee in the past as well. The Browns have made it clear that any player besides Terrelle Pryor is up for sale. Haden had a down year last year, but he’s still one of the top cornerbacks in the league and that’s an area this Titans team has really been hurting in. The coaching staff seems to be pleased with Perrish Cox, and I will give him props for the picks he comes down with from time to time. But too many times, he’s in position to make the play and doesn’t. Not to mention he’s out with an concussion right now. Haden would come in and immediately shore up the secondary. The deal: Titans receive Joe Haden and a sixth round pick, Browns receive a third round pick.

Now obviously every player on this list can’t be had, and I’d be lucky to make any of these predictions 100% right, but it’s something to think about.
