The second draft is here ladies and gentlemen, that’s right it is time to look at potential waiver wire claims.

More from Titans Free Agency

For those unfamiliar with why I am calling it that, Jon Robinson has called having 1st position on the waiver wire “like a second draft”. This refers to the fact that any young talent that becomes available during these cuts, is now subject to the waiver wire.

It just so happens that the team with the top waiver wire priority for every player in the NFL is your own Tennessee Titans. So, in short if there are any players available thanks to cuts, the Titans will have their pick of the litter.

Using Twitter and the handy NFL tracker list, here are the names that stand out to me right now as potential adds for the Titans.

  • (Note: Some of these names ARE NOT SUBJECT TO WAIVERS, however I think they should be mentioned and I will do my best to mark them)

    RB Justin Forsett (no waiver)

I think that the Titans third RB situation may be taken care of with Antonio Andrews as the guy. However, Forsett has run for 1,907 yards for an average of 4.9 YPC over the last two years with the Baltimore Ravens. Are we really sure that he isn’t a guy that could help this team?

    OG Josh Sitton (no waiver)

We talked about this potential signing here, but man how great would this be for this team. He immediately plugs in at left guard where he has played forever, and the Titans have legit depth at this position with Quinton Spain and Dennis Kelly both able to play guard and tackle.

    TE Jace Amaro

If you want an athletic TE who can flex out to wide receiver, Amaro should be that guy. I don’t think he was ever coached up in New York, but with Mike Mularkey (a former TE and skilled TE coach) the Titans could bring in their real 2nd/3rd TE.

With Amaro, the Titans could use a package with Delanie Walker, Amaro, Tajae Sharpe, Rishard Matthews, and DeMarco Murray and they could show a lot of different formations.

    CB Dee Milner

Another highly coveted player out of college, Milner has just never really taken the next step to earn a job as a starter. On a team like the Titans devoid of any serious CB depth Milner could have a chance to get a fresh start with a Hall of Fame coach in Dick LeBeau.

    CB Zack Sanchez

A rookie from Oklahoma who was actually drafted in the fifth round, Sanchez has a lot of talent and he was consistently productive and affecting passes at the college level. We know that pass deflections and interceptions influence Jon Robinson’s evaluation of running backs very heavily.

    CB Cre’Von LeBlanc

A guy I wrote about earlier in the preseason, LeBlanc is a real potential waiver wire addition. He is a guy who doesn’t play a lot of special teams, but who looks really good as a pure CB. He was a New England Patriot, and it appears that they are going to try to sneak him on the practice squad, but a team like the Titans could like him enough to sign him off the waiver wire and let him develop.
