The Tennessee Titans have a great General Manager regardless of their terrible decision to keep Mike Mularkey. So I am really excited to see where the Titans go in this draft.

More from Titans Draft

I wrote a long story the other day about how Jon Robinson has found some amazing talent in his career and he has done it consistently. He has done that by drafting the best player available and if there isn’t value, he trades down.

With that in mind, let’s look at Dan Kadar’s newest mock draft and who he likes for the Tennessee Titans.

1st overall pick- Joey Bosa DE, Ohio State

His thoughts:

“If you subscribe to the best player philosophy, Bosa is my top player in the draft, so he’s the pick. The holdup is that he’d be more effective on a team that predominantly uses three-man fronts on defense. There have been reports back and forth about Titans defensive coordinator Ray Horton, and what happens there could change this pick.”

  • My thoughts:

I believe that the Titans could definitely go this route especially based on Robinson’s propensity for going BPA. I think Tunsil is also great and he fills a need, so if there is a tie on the board I think it goes to Tunsil. However, if they think that Bosa is better even by one decimal point, Robinson will grab the stud Buckeye.

Who I would have picked: Laremy Tunsil OT, Ole Miss

33rd overall pick- Shon Coleman OT, Auburn

    My thoughts:

I hate this pick. Coleman really isn’t that good, and I wouldn’t touch him in the top three rounds. He is a positional blocker in the same scheme that made everyone lose their minds about giant bust Gregg Robinson.

    More from Titan Sized

He has a great story and he beat cancer which is astounding and it is something he should be commended on repeatedly. However, I just am not a fan of his and think that he is not a top-40 player.

Who I would have picked: William Jackson III CB, Houston

Jackson is a top-25 player for me. He is constantly making plays on passes and he is always showing up on film as someone who is a finger tip away from an interception, unless he is getting the pick. This team needs depth at CB if nothing else and Jackson is my BPA so it all works out.

This would allow the Titans to move Perrish Cox either inside, or to try Jason McCourty at safety which worked really well for his brother (though I know it obviously isn’t the same).
