A few weeks ago, we had officially reached the point in the season where fans likely care more about where the Tennessee Titans are going to pick in the 2025 NFL Draft than they do if the team comes away with wins on Sundays.
Last week, the Titans found themselves sitting at no. 4 overall in the draft order following their loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Going into Week 17, there were a plethora of different scenarios which could have unfolded.
Ahead of the Titans entering this week were both the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars, and based on the outcome of the Titans/Jaguars and Giants/Colts games, things could get interesting.
And that's exactly what they did.
The Titans, of course, fell to the Jaguars by a score of 20-13. Meanwhile, the Giants poured it on the Colts, winning by a score of 45-33 and vacating the top spot in the draft order altogether. Let's check in on where the Titans sit, now that they've been given a couple of gifts -- yes, one of those gifts is considered to be Sunday's loss to Jacksonville.
Updated 2025 NFL Draft order after Titans' Week 17 loss to Jaguars
1. New England Patriots (3-13)
2. Tennessee Titans (3-13)
3. Cleveland Browns (3-13)
4. New York Giants (3-13)
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12)
6. New York Jets (4-12)
7. Carolina Panthers (4-12)
8. Las Vegas Raiders (4-12)
9. Chicago Bears (4-12)
10. New Orleans Saints (5-11)
The Titans have worked their way back up to the no. 2 overall selection in next year's draft. If they lose in Week 18 and lock up a top-two pick, then you can all but wave goodbye to Will Levis in Tennessee.
As if the Levis era wasn't already on the rocks, this would essentially put the nail in his coffin. The Titans are going to be seeking a franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. If they are able to land the no. 1 or no. 2 pick, then the Titans are assured to select a quarterback.
The big question will become, just which quarterback is that going to be? For the next three and a half months, we're going to see a whole lot of debate and conversation around quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, along with two-way sensation and Heisman winner Travis Hunter.
Make no mistake, though, these Titans will be going after a quarterback with a top-two pick. Would it be Sanders? How about Ward? Which one should it be?
