Tyjae Spears scored one of the coolest-looking touchdowns of the season
As the Tennessee Titans take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15, Tyjae Spears and the Titans offense are cooking. With a little over four minutes to go in the first quarter, Spears had one of the coolest touchdowns of the season.
The Titans got the ball down to a goal-to-go situation thanks to Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt committing a (questionable) DPI penalty. From there, the Titans ran it to the one-yard-line and then Spears got his chance to score on the next play.
Spears went into the air and crowd-surfed his way into the end zone to give Tennessee the lead. He held the ball out to ensure he got the score too, which can be risky but in this case, it worked and it looked pretty cool. Spears just went higher and higher on the touchdown. It even looks like he's dunking on the Bengals toward the end of that play, as the Bengals defenders tried to knock the ball out of his grip.
Titans take the lead on a cool Tyjae Spears TD
This is a revenge game of sorts for the Titans, as head coach Brian Callahan and Tyler Boyd are both going up against their old team. Callahan served as the Bengals offensive coordinator throughout the entirety of Joe Burrow's career before joining the Titans this offseason. Boyd had played in Cincinnati from 2016 to 2023 and was not re-signed in the offseason and chose to stick with Callahan.
While winning this game doesn't do much for the Titans' season, getting revenge for those two players is meaningful. Fans might be hoping that they continue to lose, however, so that they get a better draft slot.
That being said, it's hard to deny how cool of a touchdown this was for Spears. The Titans selected Spears in the third round of last year's draft and the Tulane product has missed time in his second season. In fact, before this game, he had just 185 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Let's hope that Spears continues to run the ball down Cincinnati's throat and get his confidence back up after a slightly disappointing season.
