Understandably, the focus of the Tennessee Titans' 2025 draft class has been quarterback Cam Ward. The first overall pick came in with sky-high expectations, set to carry the franchise into a new era.
Even early in the season, rookie wideout Elic Ayomanor garnered significant attention. But fourth-round receiver Chimere Dike is forcing fans to take notice of him, too. He put together another impressive performance in the Titans' Week 16 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
It's still early in his career, but Dike looks like he has the makings of a star.
Chimere Dike shows off talent in Titans' Week 16 win
Coming out of the University of Florida, Dike was expected to be limited as an NFL receiver. Outside of his blazing speed, many scouts didn't see much refinement in the young wideout's game. When the Titans selected him in the fourth round, many experts even saw the pick as a reach.
As it turns out, he's been better than anyone expected him to be. He had a slow start to the season, totaling just 26 receiving yards across Tennessee's first six games of the year. But since then, he has established himself as a key contributor in the Titans' offense. He's scored three touchdowns and hauled in a few explosive passes since earning a bigger role.
In Tennessee's win over Kansas City, Dike only needed a few plays to show just how impactful he can be. Early in the third quarter, he brought in a 30-yard throw from Ward in one of his most impressive plays of the season. After coming across the formation on a pre-snap motion, the rookie receiver found open space down the field and showed off precise footwork to stay in bounds.
Later on the same drive, he scored the fourth touchdown of his young career. The Titans had the ball at Kansas City's one-yard line, and Ward flicked a quick pass to Dike for the score to extend the lead.
Dike finished the game with just three catches on five targets for 40 yards as the Titans shifted their focus to running the clock down late in the game. Still, this will go down as another great performance from the rookie. He's shown that he's so much more than the speedster that scouts saw coming out of college. After coming into the year with minimal expectations, the wideout has solidified himself as an important part of Tennessee's offense moving forward.
