The Tennessee Titans made the decision to pull the plug on the Will Levis experiment after his three-interception game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The second-year quarterback's grip on the starting job has never been this loose, as Mason Rudolph will likely start Tennessee's next game.
The Titans will need to reconsider who the Week 1 quarterback in 2025 will be. Assuming they will not be bad enough to end up taking one of the top two names out there, pursuing a veteran option could make sense for an expensive roster and a coaching staff already feeling the heat.
The Titans, who will likely pick somewhere on the fringes of the Top 10, need to take a long, hard look at Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the 2025 NFL Draft. Rolling into 2025 with Levis as the unchallenged starting quarterback would essentially ruin yet another Titans campaign.
While Milroe has his flaws as a passer, head coach Brian Callahan may only get one shot to pick his quarterback before the organization is wiped clean. Milroe is not for everyone, but it's very hard to deny the potential housed in the dynamic Crimson Tide playmaker.
Tennessee Titans must consider drafting Jalen Milroe to replace Will Levis as starting QB
Milroe has thrown just 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions this season, and one of the lasting memories many will have of his possible final season with the Tide is a nightmare game against Oklahoma in which he didn't look like a first-round prospect due to his lack of timing and accuracy.
The Titans should still consider Milroe, especially if they win enough games to take them out of the race for Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. In terms of high-end athletic traits, Milroe is the most intriguing quarterback in this class. Callahan's offensive background could be ideal to develop his raw traits.
Milroe did run for a tremendous 20 touchdowns this season, all while showcasing a whip-like arm that can make every throw in the book and an ability to make plays out of structure. Considering how panicked Levis would look when out of structure or trying to force a play, Milroe could be a nice change of pace.
With the Titans likely to pursue veteran options out there, however limited those options may be, planning for a post-Levis future seems to be in the cards. Milroe could be at the center of it all.
