While it may not feel like it, free agency in the NFL will be here sooner than you think and it should be an extremely fun time for the Tennessee Titans. Possessing over $100 million in cap space (per Over The Cap), Mike Borgonzi should have his eyes set on attacking this offseason and putting together a winning program for new head coach Robert Saleh.

The Titans don’t need a quarterback, as they have a franchise one in Cam Ward. However, they do need to surround him with weapons. Improving the roster around the young signal caller is Borgonzi's top priority.

Just like any other quarterback, Ward needs weapons around him. Both behind him and on the outside to throw to. The Titans could easily draft a rookie wideout in this year’s draft if they wanted to. But if they have the chance to acquire a proven player already, why not do it?

Titans must pursue George Pickens if Cowboys make him available

Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report listed the Titans as one of the six teams (including the Houston Texans) that must pursue Pickens if he is indeed tagged and if the Cowboys are willing to listen to offers for him.

"Tennessee's receiving corps was particularly problematic last season. The Titans ranked 31st in net yards per pass attempt, while tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo led all pass-catchers with just 560 receiving yards." said Knox.

Yeah…Ward deserves a massive upgrade at wide receiver. Now granted, this setup won’t be possible if the Cowboys want to retain Pickens. However, Dallas has traded star players both in the past and just last year (right before the start of the season). If they were willing to trade Pickens, we have no idea how Borgonzi doesn’t at least make an exploratory offer.

Coming off a season of over 1,400 yards and nine touchdowns, Pickens has set himself up as a star in this league. Now granted, it does help that CeeDee Lamb is opposite of him in Dallas, but Lamb missed some games last season and that’s where Pickens managed to shine as Dak Prescott’s go-to target.

It will obviously take more than a potential acquisition of Pickens to significantly improve this Titans offense, but it would be a huge step in the right direction in this rebuild.
