The Tennessee Titans got off to an aggressive start in free agency, adding multiple impact players on both sides of the ball. While things have slowed down for the Titans, and the NFL, in free agency, there are still plenty of moves to be made throughout the league. Tennessee still has a ton of cap space left, and the franchise should use some of it to make a smart move that’s staring the team right in the face.
That move is signing veteran wideout Jauan Jennings. The former San Francisco 49ers receiver is one of the best remaining free agents in the league, and since he hasn’t found a new team yet, Tennessee should explore adding Jennings to its roster. Not only can the Titans afford the veteran, it’s a move that makes a lot of sense for the team.
Titans should explore signing free agent receiver Jauan Jennings
Jennings was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2020 Draft, and after spending his rookie season on the practice squad, he developed into an impact player for the perennial NFC contender. The veteran carved out a role for himself on San Francisco’s loaded offense as the dirty-work receiver.
While he contributed as a pass catcher, he especially emerged for his durability and run blocking. Jennings played 75 regular season games in the last five years, and was a critical piece of the 49ers productive rushing attack. Still, he established himself as a productive pass catcher, putting together his best two seasons in the last two years. Jennings posted 975 receiving yards in 15 games in 2024, and 643 in 15 games in 2025.
Now, he could be taking his talents to a new team, and the Titans make a ton of sense as his next team. It’s no secret Tennessee needs to be better at wide receiver, and that’s why the team went out and signed Wan’Dale Robinson. However, Jennings is a much different receiver than Robinson, and could also have a role in the offense.
Additionally, having a productive run game will be a priority for the Titans, especially if they draft running back Jeremiyah Love with the fourth-overall pick. Jennings is the perfect receiver to help unlock the run game. So all things considered, Tennessee should explore signing the veteran wideout.
