Tennessee Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker made his media rounds on Wednesday while introducing Mike Borgonzi as the team's new general manager. Brinker answered a plethora of questions, including the team's new and unique structure, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, and more.

On the Ramon, Kayla, and Will Show, the team's flagship station, Brinker clearly defined how the team plans to approach owning the top overall pick in April's festivities.

The Titans have various avenues they can take. Do Brinker and Borgonzi collaborate to take the best overall player on the board, regardless of position? Do they trade down and accumulate as many assets as possible, even if it means you won't have your pick of the litter? Do they go all-in on the top quarterback on their board because it is the most important position?

Brinker touched on all of those options before defining the team's philosophy.

"If there is a generational talent [available at No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft], you don’t pass that up," Brinker said. "If it is a player that tips the field in your favor every time they step on the field, you cannot pass that up.”

When it comes to generational talents in the 2025 NFL Draft, the only player that potentially fits that description is Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

The Heisman-winning dual-threat playmaker was one of the nation's best cornerbacks and wide receivers. Hunter's ability to play both sides of the ball at an elite level is the definition of generational, and "tipping the field in your favor."

Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter deserves his flowers and is a fantastic prospect, but it has been decades since college football has seen a player like Hunter.

While the Titans appear set at cornerback, one of the team's top needs this offseason is another playmaker on offense. Allowing Hunter to come in and compete for a cornerback spot against a talented group while also using him in special packages on offense could be the best way to optimize his talent as the team decides where his home will be in the future.

After listening to Brinker address the media, it is getting harder to imagine the Titans drafting a quarterback with the first pick in the draft, considering the perception of this quarterback class. Reading between the lines, drafting Hunter or trading down may be the new regime's preferred outcome.
