Incase you don’t know by now, new Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh certainly likes to have as many pass rushers as possible. Throughout his coaching tenure as both an assistant and head coach, Saleh goes by a defensive scheme where there are plenty of edge rushers and even with adding some in free agency, no one should be surprised if Tennessee grabs another edge at some point during the 2026 NFL Draft.

With having the No. 4 pick, the Titans could miss out on someone like Arvell Reese or David Bailey if they go in the Top 3 of the order. If that does happen, you could make the argument that the Titans would take one of them. Only time will tell.

At some point in the draft, Titans fans are going to be expecting another edge rusher or two to be drafted by Mike Borgonzi. One name that the Titans have reportedly shown interest in is Nyjalik Kelly out of UCF, who also played at Miami, per Ryan Fowler.

Titans showing interest in EDGE Nyjalik Kelly ahead of NFL Draft

Kelly is an interesting prospect who could be a late Day 3 pick for Tennessee if the Titans feel that he could add value to the defense. His stats don’t pop off the chart at all (just 12.5 sacks in four seasons), so he requires a deeper dive.

At the same time, Kelly has great size that could be utilized within the correct scheme. When you think of Robert Saleh calling a defense, there are almost no areas of concern. He is the type of defensive play caller who can make maximize the players in his system.

In this league, teams can never have too many pass rushers. They are an unsung hero who can decide a game’s fate. There is almost nobody better than Saleh when it comes to calling a defense, as he has been able to show what he can do whether he has a roster that is like the 49ers, or the New York Jets.

As of right now, Kelly is not exactly one of the top prospects at the edge rusher spot, let alone in the entire draft class. Then again, could he be a diamond in the rough? If he lands in the right system, then maybe. Any defensive player who gets the chance to be coached by Saleh should be able to grow over time, if not immediately.
