Bless you, Mel Kiper.
We were all starting to get kinda bored. It had been a while since the latest mock draft dropped, and with free agency more-or-less behind us, the daunting task of "not being hyper focused on the NFL all day" was staring us right in the face. Things were looking bleak.

But no longer. Mel Kiper saved us, like he always tends to do this time of year. Kiper dropped his latest NFL Mock Draft on Tuesday morning, and it's bursting at the seams with content that's practically begging to be aggregated. And the best news of all? You barely have to scroll at all to find the most exciting part of the entire mock: the Titans sticking with their first overall pick and using it to take Miami QB Cam Ward. Here's some of why Kiper thinks that's the direction that Tennessee's headed in.
Mel Kiper thinks the Titans are going with Miami QB Cam Ward in next month's NFL Draft
"We're still not 100 percent sure what the Titans will do. They could try to trade this pick to a QB-needy team such as the Giants. Tennessee could opt for one of the top two prospects in the class in Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. Both players would fill holes on the roster. But it sure seems the stars are starting to align for Tennessee to draft its next franchise QB ... Ward's ability to improvise under center, throw lasers to his receivers and pick up the occasional first down with his legs would be welcome in Nashville. He led the FBS in touchdown passes in 2024 with 39."
Gotta love a prediction that starts with "I'm not sure what's going to happen," but that's another rant for another blog. Ward's been one of the highest risers through the draft process, and now it kinda feels like a certainty that he'll be the first QB off the board next month.
So, to recap: Kiper's not sure what direction the Titans are headed in, but he might be sure soon. What a tease – this isn't his first rodeo. For the time being, it's Cam Ward. But that might change! The only way to find out for sure is to like and subscribe to his content. Allow those push notifications, accept those cookies. The fate of the Titans depends on it.
