The Tennessee Titans endured an impossibly difficult schedule in 2025. They crawled to a 3-14 record for a second straight season as a result. On Thursday, the NFL will release the complete 2026 schedule.
To build momentum towards Thursday's release, the NFL shared the strength of schedule for each team. Based on the combined winning percentage of all its opponents in 2025, the Titans face the eighth-easiest schedule in 2026. Tennessee’s opponents mustered a combined winning percentage of just .476 in 2025.
The Titans appear to possess several weaker opponents on their schedule. Their matchups include the Las Vegas Raiders (3-14), New York Jets (3-14), New York Giants (4-13), Washington Commanders (5-12), Cleveland Browns (5-12), and Cincinnati Bengals (6-11). It's impossible to say how easy or difficult the Titans' strength of schedule actually will be, but this appears to be a positive development.
Tennessee Titans 2026 schedule: Strength of Schedule looks favorable
It's worth acknowledging the unfortunate. The Titans headed into 2025 with the NFL's third-easiest schedule based on opponents' records from the previous 2024 campaign. That did not appear to be the case during the actual season. Of Tennessee's 17 regular-season games, 10 were contested against teams that made the playoffs, including the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, who met in Super Bowl LX.
Looking ahead to the Titans' 2026 schedule, it's possible some of the perceived weaker opponents could be due for bounce-back seasons. The Commanders and Bengals were mentioned earlier as two teams on the schedule that are coming off disappointing seasons. Both teams lost starting quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow for a significant chunk of the season due to injury.
The Titans went 0-6 in the AFC South last season. Improving versus the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts is imperative to better navigating the schedule. The Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys are additional 2026 opponents who may be better than they were in 2025.
The strength of schedule claims the Titans have a fairly straightforward slate. It insinuated the same a year ago, and the Titans ended up running into a historically difficult schedule. Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh need to focus on in-house improvement before celebrating on-paper victories.
