The Tennessee Titans are using mandatory minicamp to learn even more about their team this week. After 10 voluntary OTA practices, the Titans are on the practice field for a two-day mandatory period. Every session should deliver additional clarity about roster questions before training camp.
One of the biggest and most concerning storylines surrounds the Titans' lack of depth at offensive tackle. Dan Moore Jr. and JC Latham return as the starters outside. Behind them, the Titans have to replace backup tackle Oli Udoh, who signed with the Arizona Cardinals in free agency.
They signed veteran Austin Deculus in free agency, though he inspires no confidence based on his NFL career. Mike Borgonzi signed two undrafted free agents in Aamil Wager and Rasheed Miller, who are expected to compete. The most underrated option of all may be sophomore UDFA Brandaon Crenshaw-Dickson, who is the only returning member of this competition.
Titans sophomore OT Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson auditions for key role at minicamp
Borgonzi really liked Crenshaw-Dickson in undrafted free agency last offseason. Despite having no plans to actually play him regularly in 2025, the Titans surprisingly kept him on the initial 53-man roster. That was done to prevent him from being claimed off waivers.
That was after the Titans signed Crenshaw-Dickson to an undrafted contract that contained $255,000 in guarantees. The former San Diego State and Florida standout played just 18 offensive snaps as a rookie, and 15 more on special teams. The Titans had a long-term plan in mind for Crenshaw-Dickson.
Perhaps this is it. In theory, Crenshaw-Dickson should be ahead of Wagner and Miller on the depth chart, rookie UDFAs who find themselves in positions he was previously in last offseason. The lone veteran competition comes from Deculus, who was truly abysmal for the Los Angeles Chargers a year ago.
The backup tackle depth is extremely concerning, but the Titans believe Crenshaw-Dickson was worth a long-term investment. There's little in his way of establishing himself as the go-to reserve option behind Latham and Moore. Hopefully the Titans' long play with Crenshaw-Dickson pays off by addressing an underrated roster issue.
