The Tennessee Titans have invested heavily in the offensive line over the last few years, and it has certainly improved from the terrible position it was in after the end of the Taylor Lewan, Roger Saffold, and Ben Jones era.
There have been plenty of misses along the way, but Peter Skoronski looks like an inevitable Pro Bowler, J.C. Latham has more ups than downs, and Dan Moore is at least a serviceable left tackle, which is worth paying for.
However, the Titans are rolling the dice at center with a competition shaping up between second-year man Jackson Slater and career backup Austin Schlottmann. On top of that, fans are desperate to see the team re-sign Kevin Zeitler at right guard, because if they don't, there is no obvious answer for who would fill that vacancy.
In a best-case scenario, Slater dominates in training camp and wins the job quickly, and he does so next to a re-signed Zeitler. However, even if that plays out, a new visual shows that it isn't enough.
Data suggests Titans must invest premium Draft resources into offensive line
Here is a chart of all 32 teams and their most common 5 OL and how many snaps they played. Only 9 teams had the same 5 for 50%+ of snaps. OL is always a need. Especially with Joe at QB pic.twitter.com/PcM3Qe6xef

Cincinnati Bengals fans were discussing their need for help along the offensive line, and that produced an interesting graphic. Above is a chart showing the starting five offensive linemen that were used together most frequently for each team, and what percentage of snaps those five linemen played together.
For example, the Titans' most-used offensive line was Moore, Skoronski, Lloyd Cushenberry, Zeitler, and Latham, and they played together for less than half of the offensive snaps this year. That brings us to an important point that needs to be addressed.
Many people have called for the Titans to hit the offensive line multiple times in the upcoming draft, as well as re-signing Zeitler, and this data shows why it is important to stay invested in the offensive line. Only two teams played the same five linemen for 80% or more of their offensive snaps last year, and one of them was the Atlanta Falcons, whose right tackle missed the whole season with an injury, so it wasn't even their ideal starting lineup.
With Cam Ward set for a big step forward this season, the Titans need to make sure they not only feel confident in their starting offensive line, but also have depth at tackle and on the interior they can trust.
The good news is that the Titans seem to realize this, and they have been very active in scouting and bringing in likely Day 3 offensive linemen for visits before the 2026 NFL Draft.
This is a great reminder that while the Titans might not have an apparent need along the offensive line on Day 3, don't forget how deep and talented that room needs to be for this team to be prepared to take a real stab at improving their record this season.
