The Tennessee Titans put a stop to their losing streak in Week 6 with a win over the Indianapolis Colts. Now they will be looking to get their first win at home of the season as they host the 4-2 Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
Little did we know that this game would feature the Browns having a better record than the Titans, but everyone who watches the NFL knows that it's a week-to-week league. With this game being in Nashville, coming off a divisional win against the Colts, the Titans have momentum on their side.
Then again, the Browns also got a tough divisional win themselves last week against the Baltimore Ravens. So, this matchup between Tennessee and Cleveland could feature some great football.
Titans face overlooked make-or-break game in Week 7
The 0-5 start was already bad enough for Tennessee. While they did get their first win last week, them losing to the Browns would be a backbreaker for the momentum they are looking to keep going. Cleveland might be a 4-2 team, but all of their wins have come within 4 points or less. Tennessee has a great shot to get their second win, and Russell S. Baxter of NFL Spin Zone also agrees.
Baxter put together 3 bold predictions for Week 7 and the Titans getting their second consecutive win over the Browns was one of them:
"Here’s a sobering statistic. The last time the Titans won consecutive games was Weeks 10 and 11…of 2022. That ends this week as Saleh’s defense stifle a Browns’ team that has scored a combined 25 points in its last two games." said Baxter.
Yeah, it's time to end that streak. That just shows you what Titans fans have had to experience with this team for nearly 4 seasons.
Titans' defense set up to be X-factor vs. Browns
Saleh's defense managed to get some pressure on Daniel Jones last week, hitting him 10 times and sacking him six times. With Deshaun Watson being sacked a league-high 24 times this season, Saleh and that Titans defense are in for a major treat to take pressure off of Cam Ward and the offense.
Cleveland's offense is not dynamic whatsoever. All that the Titans' defense needs to do is not let Watson to make plays outside the pocket. If they can contain in-between the numbers, the Browns' offense doesn't stand a chance.
However, Tennessee's offense has to find a way to get on the board and avoid a low-scoring game that could turn into whoever has the ball last.
