The Tennessee Titans have some sizable offseason decisions to make across the offensive line. They are currently looking for new starters at right guard and center. Kevin Zeitler is a free agent, and Lloyd Cushenberry was released from his contract earlier this offseason.
Mike Borgonzi signed former New York Giants center Austin Schlottmann on Monday. He wasn't the only addition on the offensive line. The Titans also agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free-agent guard Cordell Volson, according to national reports.
Volson did not feature in 2025. The former North Dakota State standout underwent season-ending right shoulder surgery in August. The Titans are signing an offensive linemen who will enter training camp with something to prove.

Surely the Titans aren't signing Volson as their solution at right guard. Borgonzi should still possess interest in re-signing Zeitler to return to that position in 2026. Volson is more than likely a depth signing who will receive an opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
The Titans aren't bringing back Blake Hance in 2026. Hance was a Bill Callahan favorite who was supposed to backup multiple positions across the offensive line. Volson could potentially play a similar role.
Volson is an experienced offensive lineman. The 2022 fourth-round selection has appeared in 50 career contests with 48 starts. Volson never met expectations with the Cincinnati Bengals, but he should have never been positioned as a full-time starter.
Borgonzi continues to revamp the offensive line. Volson joins sophomore draft pick Jackson Slater and Schlottmann as backup-quality players across the interior on the roster. Borgonzi will probably make additional moves at guard and center. Volson is a low-risk gamble who will be eager to return to football after missing the entire 2025 season.
