The Tennessee Titans entered last offseason willing to pour premium resources into fixing their offensive line. New general manager Mike Borgonzi committed to that mission in a major way by signing free-agent left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to a four-year contract worth $82 million. Through nine disappointing weeks of the 2025 season, Moore hasn't exactly lived up to that bloated contract.
The Titans are on a Week 10 bye. Moore's performance in the team's Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers was incredibly uneven. Moore was credited with allowing four pressures and a season-worst two sacks, according to Pro Football Focus.
Chargers EDGE Odafe Oweh gave Moore major fits in pass protection. Oweh was traded to the Chargers roughly two weeks before the Titans game. Moore signed a contract worth $82 million with an expectation attached that he's capable of stonewalling rushers of that caliber.
Titans need more from $82 million LT Dan Moore Jr.
Moore has allowed 25 total pressures this season. That ranks ninth-worst according to PFFs data. Several of the offensive tackles who have allowed more pressures than Moore are developing players on rookie contracts, such as Josh Conerly, Kelvin Banks, and Tyler Guyton.
Meanwhile Moore is tied for the 11th-highest salary in the NFL at his position. His seven sacks allowed is tied for the most in the league with Bernhard Raimann (Colts) and Walker Little (Jaguars). Moore has allowed one-or-more sacks in six of the Titans' nine games.
Moore hasn't been a full-blown disaster, but he's been more inconsistent than desired. He'll almost certainly return to the Titans offense in 2026. Moore's contract essentially guarantees that, and Borgonzi possesses enough on his summer to-do list without adding left tackle.
The Titans are committed to Moore through 2026 at minimum. He's improved their level of left tackle play compared to what Andre Dillard and Dennis Daley provided in recent years, but he's being paid quite handsomely by comparison, and that bar was bottom-of-the-barrel low. Moore needs to be more consistent in front of rookie quarterback Cam Ward moving forward.
