Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard was the only consistent member of a terrible offense last season. Lackluster quarterback and offensive line play completely held back Brian Callahan's offense in 2024. Pollard was the lone constant, rushing for 1,079 yards and five touchdowns. The dual-threat playmaker added another 41 receptions and 238 receiving yards to his offensive totals.
Pollard should benefit greatly from the Titans' improved offense this season. No. 1 overall quarterback Cam Ward is a massive upgrade over Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. GM Mike Borgonzi has also invested in the offensive line, with new signings Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler helping create rushing lanes for Pollard.
Bleacher Report recently compiled a list of 10 "must-have" players in fantasy football this season. Somewhat surprisingly, Pollard made the list. B/R is buying into Pollard's new-look supporting cast.
Titans RB Tony Pollard named "must have" in fantasy football
"Last year, Tony Pollard of the Tennessee Titans eclipsed 1,000 yards on the ground for the third straight season," Gary Davenport wrote. "He also caught 41 passes and surpassed 1,300 total yards—numbers that were good for an RB22 finish in fantasy points. If rookie quarterback Cam Ward can give the Titans offense a boost, Pollard could also see a bump in touchdowns after scoring just five in 2024. His 2024 numbers are closer to his fantasy floor than his ceiling, making him one of the more attractive "RB Dead Zone" targets of 2025."
Pollard was the epitome of consistency last season. Ward and the revamped offensive line should pay dividends for the veteran ball-carrier this year. Pollard isn't the most exciting fantasy football target, but his week-to-week outputs are valuable.
Pollard could be an every-down weapon if Tyjae Spears struggles to stay healthy again. Ward will rely on the experienced running back to help him transition to the NFL. Pollard could enjoy an outstanding 2025 campaign.
