The Tennessee Titans have spent the past two offseasons rebuilding this roster to a point where they can hopefully compete with anyone in the NFL. While they might not be settled at every position, even the positions with questionable depth are anchored by veterans who can be serviceable for a year until they can address the positions permanently via future draft picks.
In 2027, the Titans can let the draft come to them and focus on drafting the best player on the board regardless of position. That is what Dane Brugler has them doing in his 2027 NFL Mock Draft.
Brugler has the Titans selecting former Freshman All-American and All-SEC EDGE Dylan Stewart from South Carolina. Not only is he a fantastic value at the pick, but he is exactly the body type that Robert Saleh has coveted in the past with guys like Jermaine Johnson, which is why there was such speculation about the team targeting David Bailey if he fell to No. 4 this year.
Titans add elite pass rusher in Dane Brugler's 2027 NFL Mock Draft
In a different mock draft, Cooper Petagna summarized Stewart best, saying:
"One of the most explosive pass rushers in the country over the past two seasons, Stewart's production doesn't fully capture his impact. With a long, wiry frame and excellent length, he covers ground quickly, flashing elite speed, bend, and occasional power that make him. While his down-to-down consistency remains an area for improvement, the former five-star offers the kind of upside teams bet on early."
Stewart is Brugler's highest-rated EDGE and his second-highest-rated defensive player in the entire draft, and he would be the missing piece to make this Titans defense elite. Assuming the Titans re-sign Johnson next offseason, Saleh's defensive front would include Jeffery Simmons, John Franklin-Myers, Johnson, Keldric Faulk, Stewart, and Femi Oladejo. That is a big, mean, physically imposing front that isn't lacking for athleticism.
The 2027 NFL Draft appears loaded with elite talent, and whether the Titans draft in the top-10 or near the 20s, they are going to be in a great position to add a high-end player thanks to the roster-building efforts of Mike Borgonzi.
Whether they decide to target another potentially dominant receiver to pair with Carnell Tate, an EDGE to bookend Keldrick Faulk, or an offensive tackle to add to a young, talented, and deep offensive line, the Titans are going to find some way to improve a position group from "good" to "great" instantly.
