The Tennessee Titans could address any number of various positions with the No. 35 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Narrowing down the possibilities will depend on what Mike Borgonzi achieves with the fourth pick. Running back Jeremiyah Love is viewed as a premier first-round option. Wide receiver and EDGE are both considered top-35 possibilities.
One position that has gone underdiscussed in relation to Tennessee's second-round pick is cornerback. Somewhat understandably so, considering the Titans committed more than $110 million to three free-agent cornerbacks. Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott were both signed to play boundary corner.
New head coach Robert Saleh is a defensive-minded coach who will influence the direction of the Titans' draft. One cornerback prospect who may be available at No. 35 overall is Miami's Keionte Scott. Scott is a perfect fit for Saleh's defense, and that could be vital when Borgonzi is making his selection.
NFL Draft: Miami DB Keionte Scott A Perfect Fit For Titans, Robert Saleh
“Scott plays like a linebacker in a cornerback’s body," Dane Brugler's NFL Draft guide claims. "His ability to set the edge, avoid blocks and make stops at the line of scrimmage is coaching tape for young nickels.”
That certainly fits the description Saleh prefers in nickel cornerbacks. Right now, the Titans don't have an obvious starter at the defensive slot position. Sixth-round sophomore Marcus Harris is penciled into that role. Harris performed admirably as a rookie, albeit via just 342 defensive snaps.
Scott has some nickel corner/hybrid safety ability. Safety is another position the Titans lack terrific depth at. The oft-injured duo of Amani Hooker and Kevin Winston Jr. are the starters, with Saleh's former player Tony Adams signing up to play a backup role.
The Titans are rebuilding their roster in Saleh's and Borgonzi's vision. That multi-year process may include drafting players who are excellent culture and scheme fits at positions that may not require urgent attention. Scott is one of those prospects who could be in consideration at no. 35 overall.
