Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh spoke at the podium on Tuesday at the NFL Combine. Coach Saleh addressed a number of topics, answering questions about his roster and the 2026 NFL Draft. The Titans own the No. 4 overall pick and many expect them to target a pass rusher with that selection.
The Titans may not get an opportunity to hand-pick their preferred EDGE with the fourth selection, but there are three favorites. Arvell Reese, David Bailey, and Rueben Bain Jr. are the names frequently mocked to the Titans in offseason scenarios. At least one of them is guaranteed to be available.
Coach Saleh was specifically asked about Bain at the NFL Combine. He was filled with praise for the Miami pass rusher. If Saleh's words were any indication, Bain will be among the options Mike Borgonzi strongly considers at No. 4 overall.
Titans HC Robert Saleh praises Rueben Bain at the NFL Combine
"His tape is undeniable," Saleh said about Bain. "His football IQ is off the charts. There are certain things he'll have to adjust to but he's a guy that should have a lot of success in the league."
Bain was one of the more dominant pass rushers in college football this past season. The Miami, Florida native registered 9.5 sacks and was excellent versus the run, notching another 15.5 tackles for loss. Bain is widely viewed as a top-10 selection in the upcoming draft.
Borgonzi is entering the offseason with a massive need at EDGE. Arden Key and Jihad Ward are among the team's pending unrestricted free agents. The only notable pass rushers under contract are sophomore Femi Oladejo, and third-year pro Jaylen Harrell.
The Titans will demand more from Oladejo in 2026. Harrell finished the 2025 campaign in impressive fashion, but isn't considered a starting-caliber player. The Titans need impact rushers, which is why Bain is expected to be among the premier options with the fourth pick.
Coach Saleh is a defensive minded leader. It's no surprise that he's impressed with Bain as a prospect, given the accolades and individual performances he strung together. It sounds like Bain will be among Tennessee's shortlisted options at No. 4 overall.
