Monday night's primetime duel between the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins could have been the perfect opportunity for struggling quarterback Will Levis to right the ship. However, in just a few series, the Titans passer put together a horrendous opening series before a concerning injury.

Levis was intercepted by Dolphins pass rusher Emmanuel Ogbah, giving the second-year quarterback a league-leading nine turnovers. After he was unable to convert a third down attempt on Tennessee's last series by coming up short on a scramble, Levis appeared to suffer a noteworthy injury.

Levis was quickly sent to the blue medical tent with a shoulder ailment after just two series against Miami, which gave veteran Mason Rudolph his first action. Even if Rudolph is able to help the offense function, the Titans have to be extremely concerned about the health of their possible franchise quarterback.

Will Levis injury update: Titans QB leaves game vs. Dolphins with shoulder injury

Levis hurt his throwing shoulder after unsuccessfully diving for a first down and coming down awkwardly. The fact Levis has banged up his throwing arm is of the most extreme concern to Tennessee, who are already trying not to see their season slip away in primetime.

Levis came into this game with 579 yards passing and four passing touchdowns, but he has also thrown five interceptions and lost three fumbles. After another interception and his injury preventing him from continuing, Levis was removed from the game in favor of Rudolph.

Rudolph, who was signed away from the Pittsburgh Steelers after years of backing up a host of quarterbacks, threw 19 touchdowns against 11 interceptions during his six seasons under Mike Tomlin. Time will tell if the more immobile, yet more experienced and safer, Rudolph will operate Brian Callahan's offense better than Levis.

Rudolph has the arm to get the ball down the field, and he did lead the Titans to points on their first drive with him under center after converting a 52-yard field goal. However, the Titans fanbase will wait with bated breath for any more clarity regarding Levis' injury.
