The Tennessee Titans have added a new weapon for Will Levis. Tyler Boyd is joining the Titans and reuniting with his offensive coordinator from Cincinnati, as Brian Callahan is now running the show in Nashville.
Boyd was a second-round pick by the Bengals in 2016 and played eight seasons there, tallying 6,000 yards on the dot during that time. The writing was on the wall for Boyd to move on, however, following the 2023 season after a down year and the Bengals having other players they needed to pay.
It made sense for Boyd to join the Titans considering Callahan is the head coach and the two worked together in Cincinnati.
Tyler Boyd joins Titans on a one-year deal
Boyd will now join a Titans wide receiver group that consists of DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, and Treylon Burks, which should give Will Levis plenty of firepower as he enters his second year in the pros.
This was a solid move from the Titans and let's hope that Boyd can recapture some of the magic he's had in the past. He's a good player but did struggle with drops during 2023, including a key one in a Bengals' loss to the Texans and Cincinnati went on to miss the playoffs. Now, of course, other factors were to blame than just that one drop but it was something Bengals fans remembered at the end of the year.
Boyd provides a veteran talent who should be able to get open and help Levis improve in a critical year. Let's hope this deal pays off.
