TRADE: Tennessee Titans receive picks 44 (2nd) and 77 (3rd) from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for picks 38 (2nd) and 106 (4th).
With the 44th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Keon Coleman WR, FSU
Coleman isn't a perfect prospect, but he has taken some unfair knocks throughout the draft process. Call it draft fatigue or being overly critical, but Coleman is a 6'3 receiver with impressive hands, experience lining up inside and outside, the ability to box out defenders with ease, and the athleticism to return punts and kickoffs.
What is going to push Coleman out of the first round is that he ran a 4.61 and people are concerned that he won't be able to get separation in the NFL. Do you know who ran a 4.57 coming out of college and who doesn't get separation in the NFL? His would-be teammate, DeAndre Hopkins.
Allowing Coleman to work with Hopkins and learn the nuances in his game would be the perfect introduction to the NFL. In the Tennessee Titans new offense there will be plenty of three-wide receiver sets so Coleman, Hopkins, and Calvin Ridley could be on the field together as much or as little as they want.
The Titans can have the patience to find out whether Coleman is "just" a big slot receiver or if he is the guy who can take over the "X" position once DeAndre Hopkins leaves, while still getting an immediate impact player.
