Titans Rumors: 5 replacements for Mike Vrabel if he succeeds Bill Belichick
By Ryan Heckman
5. Josh McCown, Quarterbacks Coach, Carolina Panthers
Lastly, the Titans could keep an eye on Panthers quarterbacks coach Josh McCown. This is an idea that is a bit like Todd Monken, where the Titans may not be ready to make a move just yet, depending on when the Patriots could pluck Vrabel. If it's going to be a year or two, then McCown is well-worth watching.
McCown is viewed around the league as an up-and-coming offensive mind who will eventually take on a coordinator role and could become a head coach in the future. Having played over a decade and a half in the NFL, McCown has been around countless locker rooms, coaches, schemes and players. His wealth of knowledge is nearly abundant.
Plus, having played just recently, McCown understands today's game from a player's perspective. He knows what it takes to win in this league and has seen the game evolve right before his eyes. McCown gets the chance to work with Bryce Young right now, and the opportunity to work with another young quarterback in Levis could be attractive to him down the line.
