The Tennessee Titans can hold one thing over the Indianapolis Colts' heads: They're not the least popular NFL team in the world. According to WBIW, a study with research through FlashPicks has given the Colts that honor.

"The study revealed that the Indianapolis Colts are the most unpopular team in the NFL, with a score of 0.5 out of 10. The Colts were the least searched-for NFL team by some distance, with just 39,780 searches from the countries outside the US. Searches for 'Indianapolis Colts game' and 'Colts NFL jersey' proved unpopular globally."

The Titans aren't high on the list either, in fact, they're not even mentioned in the post but the three other AFC South teams are all in the bottom five. The Colts rank dead last in popularity with the Houston Texans taking second place, and the Jacksonville Jaguars sitting in fifth.

Titans fans should enjoy not being the least popular NFL team

According to the study, the Colts are the least-searched team in 54 countries. It's true that the Colts haven't done much since Peyton Manning left for Denver and they've had a hard time finding a franchise quarterback since Andrew Luck abruptly retired ahead of the 2019 season.

Quarterbacks tend to be the identity of a team and with the Colts not having a consistent starting signal-caller over the last decade, it makes sense why other countries wouldn't be interested in them. The Texans might have been in dead last on this list had it been concocted a year ago but C.J. Stroud and the success the team had made them more relevant (but not by much, seeing how they're second-to-last).

For those who are curious, the five least popular teams according to the WBIW article are the Colts, Texans, Commanders, Chargers, and Jaguars. None of this should surprise anyone seeing how none of these teams have been Super Bowl contenders in recent years and/or are "newer" to the NFL (Texans, Jaguars).

The five most popular are the Bills, Cowboys, Chiefs, Dolphins, and Patriots. The Dolphins feel a little odd to be in the top five most popular but the other four make perfect sense. The Bills, Cowboys, and Chiefs are all currently competitive teams while the Patriots were dominant for 20 years and are just recently becoming irrelevant.

The article lists the top 24 teams and then the bottom five teams and the Tennessee Titans weren't listed in either spot, meaning they're either 25th or 26th. This isn't a great ranking but it makes them the most popular team in the AFC South so there's the silver lining if you're looking for one.
