The Tennessee Titans pulled off one of the biggest upsets this season on Monday night as they erased a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Miami Dolphins. The Titans picked up their first win on the road and now return home to play the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Tennessee still has some ground to make up to be in the playoff discussion, but with Texans QB C.J. Stroud in the concussion, the Titans could get another win. The Titans opened as 1.5-point favorites, but the number has moved to 2.5.

Texans vs. Titans Key Players to Watch

Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud: Stroud suffered a concussion in last week’s game against the Jets. The rookie quarterback only completed 10-of-23 passes for 91 yards and was sacked four times. Houston will wait to see if he can clear the league’s concussion protocol by Sunday, but if not, the team will turn to backup quarterback Davis Mills. Mills is not a prolific passer like Stroud, putting a damper on the Texans’ offense.

Tennessee Titans

DeAndre Hopkins: The veteran wide receiver is slowly approaching 1,000 receiving yards after a great game against the Dolphins on Monday night. Hopkins had seven receptions (12 targets) for 124 yards and a touchdown. It was the second straight game that Hopkins had 12 targets and scored a touchdown. The 31-year-old wideout will try to add to his total against his former squad.

Texans vs. Titans Prediction and Pick

With Stroud in the concussion protocol, it hinders a Texans’ offense that was putting up numbers throughout the season. The former Ohio State standout is the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year and has Houston competing for a playoff spot.

If Houston has to start Mills, we shouldn’t expect the same production from this offense that doesn’t have Tank Dell. It also doesn’t help that the running game has struggled over the last three games (87 yards per game).

Meanwhile, Tennessee still has some work to do to be in the playoff picture, but they’ve played well over their last three games. Rookie Will Levis looks to be the real deal and has developed a connection with Hopkins, which has helped the offense.

If Levis can continue to make the chains, take his shots down the field, and not give away the football, the Titans could be a live underdog. Nonetheless, I can’t make a pick on either side until we know about the status of Stroud. Therefore, I’ll take the UNDER between these two AFC South foes.
