6 Tennessee Titans players who won't survive training camp
By Ryan Heckman
The thick of summer practices is here. It's training camp season for the Tennessee Titans, and there's been plenty to talk about lately.
In the same tone of some of the recent stories such as Arden Key's suspension and Jeffrey Simmons' NSFW comments toward a media member, we're going to dive into some players who probably won't make it out of training camp with a job.
Real uplifting stories, here, folks.
All jokes aside, the Titans have a good grasp on who they're going to be and what many positions look like, even early on in camp. Which players aren't going to find themselves permanently on the roster? Let's track down six, specifically.
Titans players who won't make the final roster
Kyle Philips, WR
With each move the Titans have made over the last two offseasons, Kyle Philips has moved further and further down the depth chart. And now, he's essentially a goner. The Titans have five, if not six guys, they like ahead of him at the moment. It's not hard to guess which ones, either. Philips' time in Tennessee is probably up after two seasons.
Tre'Shaun Harrison, WR
The Titans originally signed Tre'Shaun Harrison as a 2023 undrafted free agent because he could do things like this:
How could you not take a gamble on a guy like that when he went undrafted? While he's a talented kid, Harrison will unfortunately be left off the roster as well, like Philips. Once again, the wide receiver room is too deep ahead of him.
Malik Willis, QB
There may not be a more likable guy on the Titans roster, but Malik Willis is firmly the no. 3 quarterback behind Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. He's had a strong camp thus far and, depending upon how his preseason goes, could actually find himself on another roster after the Titans ultimately cut him. It's unlikely the team keeps three quarterbacks, but would rather bring him back on the practice squad, if they're lucky.
Caleb Farley, CB
It has been an extremely difficult last few years for former first-round pick Caleb Farley, who was once the no. 22 overall pick back in 2021. Tennessee has yet to see Farley stay on the field consistently due to nagging injuries, and when he has been on the field in limited capacity, he hasn't been good enough. It's hard to put it any other way, but with the added depth at cornerback, this will likely be the year the Titans cut their losses.
JoJo Domann, LB
He might have one of the most awesome names on the roster, right now, but we won't see JoJo Domann's name on the final roster. Like last year, he'll be a solid practice squad candidate as there's too many names ahead of him on the depth chart.
Keaton Ellis, S
Going undrafted back in April is one thing, but when it takes weeks after the draft before you've officially signed with a pro team, that gives you an even tougher road ahead. Former Penn State safety Keaton Ellis signed with Tennessee in May and, barring an incredible turn of events, looks like he'll be left off the final roster.
