You can't make this stuff up.

To say the first couple of weeks have been frustrating for the Tennessee Titans would be quite an understatement.

Over the offseason, Tennessee added a significant amount of talent on both sides of the ball. Thus far, the defense has been noticeably better. Ran Carthon going out and getting players like L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Ernest Jones, Kenneth Murray and Quandre Diggs, among others, has made all the difference in the world.

Through Week 2, the Titans have been excellent on defense.

Just how good have they been?

Truthfully, too good.

You read that correctly. The Titans currently boast the NFL's top defense in yards allowed per game, giving up just 206.5 per contest. They are number one against the pass while sitting number 10 against the run.

The Titans have also done a fantastic job on third down, checking in at no. 9 in the league with having allowed a conversion rate of just 28.0 percent.

From the looks of it, the Titans are in the midst of making the wrong kind of history. Leave it to Tennessee to be on the wrong side of history through two games, but here we are.

How much is Brian Callahan to blame for the Titans' 0-2 start?

Looking at just how good the defense has been, it is fair to ask where head coach Brian Callahan is in all of this. After all, he's supposed to be the offensive mind, here.

The organization went out and gave second-year quarterback Will Levis even more to work with this season, yet he's been a mess. So, what gives? How can the Titans fix their offense?

For starters, Callahan's coaching style has been called into question as of late. The way he's gone about attempting to coach his quarterback may not be going quite as planned. Does Callahan believe he's doing right by Levis to call him out publicly as he's been doing?

That is a matter of opinion, of course. But, for a first-year head coach, Callahan hasn't exactly been sporting a bright and shiny reputation thus far. The offense has sputtered under Callahan, regardless of who might be to blame. In the end, it falls on the head coach.

The Titans are sixth-worst in passing offense, while checking in at being seventh-worst in yards per game overall. It's been bad, and it's on Callahan, period.

Fans better hope Callahan can turn things around, and in a hurry, because this team has been an embarrassment so far.
