At 0-2, the Tennessee Titans are facing a pivotal Week 3 matchup ahead against the Green Bay Packers.

Although, the matchup could be swung drastically one way or another depending on how the rest of the week goes with one particular player. Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered an MCL injury in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles which was originally thought to keep him out anywhere from 3-6 weeks.

Week 2, the Packers started a familiar face to Titans fans in Malik Willis. Green Bay, of course, traded for Willis a few weeks ago and added him as insurance for Love. Needless to say, the trade paid off. Willis stepped in against the Indianapolis Colts last week and delivered a solid performance in a run-heavy strategy for Matt LaFleur and the Packers.

This coming weekend, the Titans were about to get set to face Willis in his second Packers start. However, some injury news on Wednesday may have shifted the tides a bit.

To the surprise of some, Love was indeed back at Packers practice on Wednesday.

Now, the return of Love doesn't necessarily mean he will have been a full practice participant, but he was seen in warmups with his helmet on. Love also participated in some drills as well, which is a positive sign for Green Bay.

The Titans may not get a chance to face Malik Willis in his possible revenge game

Of course, the big storyline here is the fact that the Titans will be able to face off against Willis if Love ends up missing Week 3. Should Willis get his second-straight start, the Titans would have a slight advantage over other teams the former Liberty standout would face.

Obviously, Tennessee players and coaches know his tendencies very well which would help in attacking him via the pass rush -- that is, if the Titans can generate a pass rush.

LaFleur, though, is a smart head coach and will tailor the game plan around what Willis can and cannot do. As Titans fans, we know Willis cannot be the reason you win a football game. He might be able to manage a game, hand the ball off more ofen than not and make a couple of plays with his legs, but Willis is not going to make those game-breaking throws that lift you off of your seat.

Green Bay ran all over the Colts in Week 2, piling up 261 yards on the ground. You can rest assured that will be the focus, yet again, if Willis suits up for this one.

However, if Love gets the start, the Titans could be in trouble. The way Love progressed so quickly after just one year of starting for Green Bay was enough to get him paid a pretty penny. The Packers believe in Love, and so do many of the experts out there. After all, his tape doesn't lie.

Love finished last season on a tear and was arguably the best quarterback in football for the second half of 2023. If he returns earlier than expected, the Titans might be staring 0-3 in the eyes.
