Final trade deadline rumors and thoughts for the Tennessee Titans
By Will Lomas
Denico Autry, EDGE
Everyone in the NFL could use more pass rushers and right now there are some big names on the trade block. Guys like Danielle Hunter, Montez Sweat, and Chase Young have all been mentioned as guys that are being discussed in trade talks.
However, all three of those players look like they are either going to cost a 1st round pick or some combination of high picks. Denico Autry on the other hand, seems like a guy that could be the perfect blend of value and production for a team that needs a guy who can make plays against the run or the pass.
Autry has been nothing short of fantastic since he was signed by the Tennessee Titans and nearly half of his career sacks have come in a Titans uniform (22 of 52.5).
He also seems to be getting better with age. In 2020 he averaged 0.53 sacks per game, last season he averaged 0.67 sacks per game, and this year he is averaging 0.71 sacks per game, so anyone looking to buy on Autry is going to get a player who is still dominant.
If he doesn't get traded, the Tennessee Titans should absolutely re-sign him this offseason, but teams like the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions should be calling the Titans right now.
