Brian Callahan is already getting called out by GMFB after one week

Folks are having fun with this quote.

After the Tennessee Titans blew a 17-point lead in Week 1 and ultimately lost to the Chicago Bears, head coach Brian Callahan was visibly peeved.

The frustration seemed to stew a little bit, too, as Callahan spoke to the media earlier in the week and referenced the abysmal offensive performance. He went so far as to say that, if the Titans had punted on 1st-and-10 every time (in the second half), they would have won the game.

People took those comments in a multitude of ways. To some, it might have meant Callahan taking a shot at quarterback Will Levis. To others, it was purely a remark out of general frustration.

Well, he had to have known that if he was going to say something like that, it would catch more than just local attention.

And, boy did it ever.

One of NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" hosts and longtime Bears supporter found the quote on social media and opted to take a subtle jab of his own at the Titans head coach.

Out of all the angles on this head-scratching quote from Callahan, this might be the most accurate. It hurts. That much is true. But, it's truthful.

The Bears did block a Titans punt and return it for a touchdown. So, by Brandt's logic, if the Titans had chosen to punt every time they received a possession, Chicago very well could have done it again.

Brian Callahan's comments hint at Titans needing to make major changes before Week 2

Whether or not you see Callahan's comments a certain way, one thing is very clear. Tennessee needs to make some adjustments. The Bears pass rush pressured Levis on over 47 percent of his drop-backs. That simply cannot happen.

Does Levis need to take better care of the football? You bet he does. There is no excuse for some of the bone-headed decisions Levis made in Week 1. You cannot be so careless with the football. It cannot happen, period.

Protection needs to be better. Levis needs to be smarter. The entire offense needs to improve.

Callahan could start by feeding Tony Pollard more and by choosing to get Tyjae Spears involved in the passing game. Both of these guys need to be this team's bread and butter throughout the season. If it's all on Levis' shoulders, that's the wrong way to go about developing a quarterback. The guy needs some support, as well.

The blame goes all around, whether we want to admit it or not.
