4. Kendrick Bourne (New England Patriots)

In 2021, the New England Patriots went on a surprising spending spree in an attempt to jump-start their offense. The team added tight ends Jonnu Smith (Titans) and Hunter Henry (Chargers), as well as wide receivers Nelson Agholor (Raiders) and Kendrick Bourne (49ers). The latter was an undrafted free agent from Eastern Washington who spent his first four NFL seasons in San Francisco.

In three years in Foxborough, Bourne totaled 127 receptions for 1.640 yards and 10 scores. However, he suffered a torn ACL this past October and missed the final nine games of 2023. Bourne was a member of the Niners’ Super Bowl team in 2019 and Bill Belichick’s last playoff squad in 2021. In four postseason games, he’s totaled 13 catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns.

3. Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)

He’s a Jack…, uh, Curtis of all trades. Former Ohio State standout Curtis Samuel was a second-round pick in 2017 by the Carolina Panthers. He had his moments in Charlotte, but he eventually moved on to Washington and was reunited with former Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera. Samuel played in only five games in his first season in D.C., but he is coming off the top two campaigns of his NFL career in terms of catches.

Samuel caught a career-best 64 passes in 2020 and followed that up with 62 grabs this past season in one fewer game. Over the past two seasons, the seven-year pro has racked up a combined 1,533 yards from scrimmage and scored 10 touchdowns – including two rushing.
