1. DE Danielle Hunter (Texans)

He was an early sensation after being a third-round draft choice of the Minnesota Vikings in 2015. Then came a neck issue that cost him the entire 2020 season, and then dealt with a shoulder injury that saw him miss the final 10 games in 2021.

Standout pass-rusher Danielle Hunter has rebounded in a big way the past two seasons, named to his third and fourth Pro Bowls. He started all 17 regular-season games in 2022, finishing with 10.5 sacks and adding another QB trap in the playoff loss to the Giants. This past season, there were a career-highs in tackles (83), sacks (16.5), and forced fumbles (4). Hunter has totaled 87.5 quarterback traps in 119 regular-season contests.

The Texans finished with 46 sacks in 17 regular-season outings in 2023, and a combined 13 of those came in the season sweep of the Titans. Ironically, defensive end Jonathan Greenard, who led Houston with 12.5 sacks this past season, signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Enter Hunter, who has been incredibly consistent when healthy. He’s totaled double-digit sack totals in five of his eight overall seasons. Now opposite 2023 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr., this could be a frightening task for the Titans and the rest of the league.
