Tennessee Titans should sign DeAndre Hopkins
When the Arizona Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins last week they did a couple of things. Obviously, they did a favor to the rest of the NFC West as it will now be even easier for the Seattle Seahawks, L.A. Rams, and San Francisco 49ers to make the playoffs. Another favor was to give every receiver-needy team in the NFL an opportunity to sign a player who is still very good, and no one needs more help at receiver than the Tennessee Titans.
While Tennessee is hoping Treylon Burks will be better this coming season, he still needs help. Besides Burks, there aren't many receivers on the Titans' roster that are going to scare people and they don't have any who are proven threats. Also, while Tennessee isn't going to throw the ball a ton as they are really good at running back and the offensive line is better at run-blocking, Tennessee still needs threats at receiver to take the pressure off of an aging Derrick Henry.
For Tennessee, finding the space to sign a player like DeAndre Hopkins seems like a no-brainer and no one should be more motivated to get creative in their cap structure than the Titans.
Hopkins doesn't make Tennessee a true AFC contender (the conference is loaded), but he will help give the team a better chance at winning the AFC South. Once in the playoffs, anything can happen. Simply put, Hopkins would make Tennessee a much more dangerous team than they currently are.
