3 big name free agent targets for the Tennessee Titans this offseason

This article is the first of four segments in my series of breaking down the Tennessee Titans free agency in the 2024 offseason, consisting of: Break the Bank, Solid Signs, Budget Gets, and Bring 'Em Back.

The Tennessee Titans enter the 2024 offseason with the most useable cap space of any team in the entire NFL, allowing them the opportunity to add a true superstar at any position.

Thus, the "Break The Bank" section will be highlighting three potential free agent pickups that would have projected contracts above $20 million per year.

Obviously, when you are looking at big name players, there is always a chance that none of them hit the market. However, there have at least been rumblings of all of these players potentially moving on from their current team, so nothing is certain.

WR Tee Higgins - Cincinnati Bengals

To start the "Break The Bank" portion of this list, we have Tee Higgins. Higgins had a down year in 2023, the final year of his rookie deal in Cincinnati. After suffering multiple injuries, he only managed to play 12 games on the season, amassing 656 yards and 5 touchdowns on 42 receptions.

Although he saw a decline in production this season, he has already proven his value when healthy with back-to-back 1000-yard seasons in '21 and '22 without even being the top option for Joe Burrow. If he can stay healthy, he should get back to that level of production in 2024.

In Tennessee, Higgins could return to his home state to reunite with Brian Callahan in an offense he is familiar with, and now have the opportunity to be a true WR1. Adding Higgins would completely change the way teams view the Titans offense.

With Higgins as the WR1 and DeAndre Hopkins as the WR2, Tennessee could go from a bottom-of-the-league WR room to one of the best in the game, allowing Will Levis to become more comfortable as an NFL quarterback.

Plain and simple, if Carthon and Callahan could add Tee Higgins, he would immediately come in with the expectation of being one of the best receivers to ever wear a Tennessee Titans uniform.
