The Tennessee Titans were the worst team in the NFL last season, winning just three games, and that’s why they had the No. 1 pick in the 2025 Draft. The Titans used that pick on quarterback Cam Ward. Now, entering 2025, Tennessee is hoping Ward can lead the franchise to a quick turnaround, but experts aren’t convinced the Titans have enough to support their young quarterback.

That was evident in a recent ESPN ranking off all 32 teams’ group of weapons. Bill Barnwell listed the teams from worst to best, based on offensive playmakers only— wide receivers, tight ends, and running backs. To help determine the ranking, he asked himself, “If every team had a league-average quarterback, offensive line and playcaller along with average luck in a given season, who would have the NFL's best offense in 2025?”

Through that lens, Barnwell argued that Tennessee had the worst group of playmakers in the NFL.

Barnwell started his critique of Tennessee in the backfield, arguing that Tony Pollard didn’t have the best season last year. Barnwell then explained that Tyjae Spears wasn’t much better, before turning his attention to the veteran receiver group. With established names like Tyler Lockett, Calvin Ridely, and Van Jefferson, Barnwell acknowledged what they could offer in 2025, but ultimately said this could be each of their last year starting in Tennessee.

The ESPN analyst didn’t even speak on Tennessee’s tight ends, and that’s because there really isn’t anyone to talk about at the position. With Chig Okonkwo, Josh Whyle, and Gunnar Helm at the position, all three are hoping to establish themselves.

That’s pretty much the case for most of the offense, outside of the veteran receivers who are near the end of their careers. So while the Titans are ranked last, the unit will have the perfect opportunity to take the league by storm. It will just take multiple young guys stepping up and announcing themselves in the league.
