The Tennessee Titans will report to training camp next week. Brian Callahan's offense will now be in the possession of No. 1 overall rookie quarterback Cam Ward. Ward, the first-ever top overall QB in organization history, will be the primary reason to follow training camp closely.
Titans fans aren't the only ones excited to monitor Ward's progress. Superstar defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is a three-time Pro Bowler and the current face of the franchise. Simmons recently gushed over Ward during a recent appearance on NFL Network program Good Morning Football.
Jeffery Simmons says what Titans fans already know about Cam Ward
"He's been unbelievable," Simmons said about Ward. "I'm sure you guys have seen it. We were playing out there at minicamp and I ended up getting a sack. We're talking smack and Cally [head coach Brian Callahan] is calling the next play and I'm still talking smack. It didn't phase him. He's still talking smack while Cally was getting him the next play. That very play, he threw an 80-yard bomb to Calvin Ridley. That showed me right there, we got us [a good] one. He's legit."

That was the moment Ward displayed an innate ability to multitask in a creative manner. The Titans have already been impressed with Ward's resiliency, leadership, and overall approach to football. The rookie quarterback is holding teammates accountable while starting to take ownership of the locker room.
Ward completely aced the pre-draft process, proving to the Titans' brass that he was worthy of the No. 1 overall pick. His on-field performances throughout OTAs and minicamp were encouraging, and veterans like Simmons, the longest-tenured Titan, took notice of his approach and personality.
Ward should continue progressing at training camp. The Titans have been elated with their rookie QB, while acknowledging there's a lot of work ahead. Ward's teammates will continue taking note of his approach.
