Tennessee Titans fans had a bit of a jump scare on Sunday night when they saw Jeffery Simmons liking a tweet that linked him to potentially leaving the team. A random user on X posted that Simmons should try to reunite with former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who is now coaching the Patriots.

That seems harmless, right? Well, Simmons went on to like the post, which had Titans fans freaking out about what that could mean for the future of the long-time Titan.

Fortunately, Simmons cleared the air on Monday morning and put Titans fans' minds at ease. "Liking that tweet was literally not on purpose. Y’all cool out it’s not that deep. I know where my heart at! My goal is to retire a Titan! Back to enjoying my offseason," Simmons said before ending the post with a peace sign emoji.

Jeffery Simmons doesn't appear to be going anywhere

Simmons was the 19th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and proved to be worthy of the first-round selection. By his third year, he was a Pro Bowl player and has been a staple on the Titans' defense since joining the team.

While it could make sense for Simmons to want to reunite with Vrabel, who coached the Titans for Simmons' first five years, it's not like the Patriots are in great shape moving forward. They have just as many holes to fill as Tennessee and will be starting over with a new head coach.

Simmons said it himself though, he wants to retire as a member of the Titans. That should put a stop to anyone thinking the guy wants out of Nashville for the time being.
