The Tennessee Titans are entering training camp with questions surrounding the health of cornerback L'Jarius Sneed. Sneed appeared in just five regular-season contests for the Titans in 2024 after the team acquired him for a third-round pick and signed him to a contract extension worth $76.4 million. A peculiar quad injury suffered in October proved to be of the season-ending variety.

Concern regarding Sneed's status heightened this offseason. The Super Bowl-winning cornerback was a non-participant at OTAs and minicamp. Sneed was present, but continued rehabbing from last season's quad injury. He also has a chronic knee issue that requires workload management. The Titans were aware of that issue when they acquired him.

The Titans' cornerback room is highly dependent on Sneed returning to form. His contract has been often highlighted this offseason among the NFL's worst deals. Sneed needs a bounce-back season in 2025, or GM Mike Borgonzi could consider releasing him next summer.

Sneed recently hosted a youth football camp near his hometown in Shreveport, Louisiana. While overseeing the camp, Sneed delivered some good news regarding his health status to a local reporter in attendance.

L'Jarius Sneed provides injury update Titans fans have been waiting for

"I’m as healthy as I’ve been,” Sneed told KTAL NBC 6 News. “I’m ready to get back on the field. I missed a whole year. I have to remind everybody who L’Jarius Sneed is.”

Sneed recorded 23 tackles in five appearances for the Titans in 2024. He failed to record a single pass breakup or interception. Pro Football Focus assigned him a brutal coverage grade of 36.8, claiming he allowed four receptions on nine targets for 44 yards and one receiving touchdown. The sample size was rather small to properly critique.

The Titans are invested in Sneed's health and form this season. Sophomore corner Jarvis Brownlee Jr. projects as the starter opposite him. Depth pieces include sixth-round rookie Marcus Harris and returning veteran Darrell Baker Jr. Roger McCreary is the nickel defender.

It'll be worth monitoring Sneed's health and involvement at training camp. For now, he's delivered the injury update Titans fans were anxious to hear.
