Last week, the Tennessee Titans unofficially decided to shift their focus to the 2025 season. After trading DeAndre Hopkins and Ernest Jones IV to the highest bidders, the Titans have more ammo for the offseason to oversee an accelerated rebuild.

The 1-6 Titans, following Sunday's defeat to the Detroit Lions, should use the remainder of this wasted season to analyze for 2025 and beyond. Going through position by position, we've identified the players on the roster that help serve as a future solution for Ran Carthon and Brian Callahan.

QB: None

Starting quarterback Will Levis is under contract, but will the Titans be moving on from their struggling sophomore? Mason Rudolph is scheduled for free agency.

RB: Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears

One of the strongest groups on the roster, the Titans shouldn't need to invest in this position this offseason. Both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are under contract for the foreseeable future.

WR: Calvin Ridley, Jha'Quan Jackson

Hopkins was traded, and both Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Tyler Boyd are free agents. Jha'Quan Jackson may be a future solution. Calvin Ridley is the clear-cut No. 1, but the Titans need to add more pass catchers in the offseason. Treylon Burks shouldn't be guaranteed a roster spot.

TE: Chig Okonkwo, Josh Whyle

Chig Okonkwo and Josh Whyle can be a functional (maybe even good) one-two punch at tight end, they just need more attention in the offense. The Titans shouldn't invest heavily in tight end during the offseason.

OT: J.C. Latham

Nicholas Petit-Frere is also technically under contract, as is Jaelyn Duncan, but are we sure they make the roster? The Titans must upgrade at right tackle. JC Latham is playing like a Pro Bowler on the left.

iOL: Peter Skoronski, Lloyd Cushenberry

Dillon Radunz should be re-signed in the offseason as he's in the midst of a career-best season. Peter Skoronski and Lloyd Cushenberry have addressed previous positions of need at left guard and center.

DL: Jeffery Simmons, T'Vondre Sweat

Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat are the building blocks of the Titans defense going forward. The Titans will need depth behind them. Re-signing Sebastian Joseph-Day should be on the table as he's outperformed expectations this season.

EDGE: Harold Landry, Arden Key

Arden Key hasn't met expectations as a starter, but he's under contract at a reasonable price for a depth backup. The Titans need to upgrade the position opposite Harold Landry, and demote Key to being a rotational pass rusher.

ILB: Kenneth Murray

Ernest Jones was going to be a free agent before the trade anyways, and so is Jerome Baker, who comes to Tennessee in the deal with Seattle. Young players like Cedric Gray and James Williams could be competing for a starting job.

CB: L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Roger McCreary, Jarvis Brownlee Jr.

Cornerback is the most loaded position on the roster. The Titans are tied to L'Jarius Sneed and Chido Awuzie for the foreseeable future. Roger McCreary will be entering a contract year, and the Titans could look to get an extension done this summer. Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is playing like a building block.

S: Amani Hooker

Like Jones and Hopkins, Quandre Diggs is a veteran on an expiring contract, so he could be traded any time now. Even if he plays out the year with the Titans, he will be a free agent after the season. The Titans need to invest at safety.

While some young players could theoretically emerge and fill some of these holes, as it stands right now the Titans will need a quarterback, two wide receivers, a right guard, a right tackle, another EDGE, and a safety.

It isn't great to have that many holes on the roster, but so far, the Titans haven't traded anyone who was supposed to be a starter in 2025. Instead, they added draft picks that might help find solutions to some of these problems, even though it might get a little bumpy here over the next few months.
